Human Frog Chorus Challenge

Take the challenge and croak to help our planet!

The Human Frog Chorus was started to raise awareness of the importance of (amphibian) conservation, and how it takes all of our voices working together to make big things happen. A perfect example of "small acts, BIG change!"

"Florida's Largest (Human) Frog Chorus," the first Human Frog Chorus, was held in 2012.

We had 327 croakers (people), 1 happy dog, and 1 very tall frog (6 feet, to be exact)!

Ready to take the Human Frog Chorus Challenge by croaking for amphibian conservation and our planet, then challenging others to do the same?

Choruses are all sizes!  Your chorus may have 5 people or 100 people - it’s up to you!

Suggested Guidelines & Helpful Tips

  1. Watch the video video of "Florida's Largest (Human) Frog Chorus 2012"

  2. Set a goal to film people on one day or over the course of several days. For example, you can film friends and family you come into contact with over the course of a 2 week period. You can also set up at a school, church, park, birthday party, or any other event where you have permission to do so.

  3. Tell people how important frogs are to the environment and how important it is we save them! We will not only be saving frogs, but our planet, too! Frogs are an indicator species and that means they let us know about the health of their environment. If frogs are sick or dying, we must take action before other species disappear, too.

  4. Tell people they can help frogs and our planet by croaking for conservation awareness in your video! Offer to teach them a frog call or sound of a frog native to your community, or suggest they make their own call based on what they think a frog sounds like. Video them making the call. If it's an individual, a few seconds per call is a pretty good amount of time, though if you have a large group all at once, it is suggested you take a longer video of 10-20 seconds.

  5. Where to find those croakers? Well, anyone can croak! Think of community groups, classes, families, friends, children, adults, whoever is willing to help. Make sure you always have a parent or guardian's permission if the croaker is under 18 years of age.

  6. Make sure the croakers know the video of them croaking will be included in a frog chorus video project hat will be put online to raise awareness about amphibian conservation.

  7. At the beginning of your finished video compilation, please include the following 3 things by voice or text: who is organizing the chorus, the name of your frog chorus, and a general location such as a city or state, depending on what is appropriate for the croakers in your chorus.                                          Examples: Bailey's Super Cool Friends and Family Frog Chorus in Colorado, or Ms. Jones' science class organized Cloverdale Middle School's Frog Chorus in Nashville, Tennessee.

  8. At the end of your video, please make sure to include (by voice and/or text) the Human Frog Chorus Challenge: "We took the Frog Chorus Challenge to help frogs and our planet. Now, we challenge YOU to croak, too! Go to ConserveItForward.org to find out how!"

  9. Once your video is complete and uploaded, make sure to email us the link, so we can share it with others!

  10. The necessary legal disclaimer: Your participation in the Human Frog Chorus indicates your understanding (or that of your parent or legal guardian's understanding, if you are under the age of 18 years) that the Human Frog Chorus is voluntary and of your own free will, and that you understand Conserve It Forward, Inc. and its representatives are released of any and all liability for any damages, injuries, or losses arriving from participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
